Biography
Natalie Thrasher (she/her), soprano, is originally from Cullman, Alabama. She recently graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance and a Musical Theatre Certificate. While at UNA, Natalie studied with Dr. Gretchen Windt. Previously, she has been a member of the UNA Chamber Choir, where she served as Alto section leader. She has also been a member of the UNA Vocal Jazz Ensemble, the UNA Collegiate Singers Ensemble, and the UNA Opera & Musical Theatre program. Previously, Natalie has been employed as a Choral Scholar at the Florence First United Methodist Church, where she served as a Soprano section leader and an Alto section leader. Natalie has performed in numerous theatrical roles including Chef/Dancer/Troupe Member (Something Rotten!), Helga (Cabaret), Ensemble/Dancer (Footloose), Sister Mary Martha (Sister Act), Alyson (A Grand Night for Singing), Giannetta (The Elixir of Love), a Statue (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Dancer (Elf the Musical), Pirate/Fighting Prawn (Peter and the Starcatcher), Attina (The Little Mermaid), Kathy (Scrooge), One of the Three Pigs (Shrek the Musical), and Zazu (The Lion King Jr.). In 2016 and 2018, Natalie performed in the Alabama All-State Choral Festival. Also in 2018, Natalie was invited to perform at the International Thespian Festival for her role as Morticia Addams in the piece “Where Did We Go Wrong” from The Addams Family. Natalie focuses on intentional preparation and detailed characterization for each of her performances. She purposefully cultivates her solo repertoire with a variety of musical genres and experiences. In her free time, Natalie enjoys studying the Alexander Technique, learning American Sign Language, and drinking sweet tea.
